Position the patient supine on a vacuum mattress. Extend the left arm laterally if required. The vacuum mattress eliminates the need for additional supports.
After placing the trocars, tilt the operating table approximately 15° in the reverse Trendelenburg position and rotate 5° to the left. Bring the robotic system to the patient and dock the robotic arms.
Special care is necessary for positioning due to the robotic docking. Without a coupled table system (e.g., Table-Motion), undock the arms before adjusting the table to avoid injury risks from patient slippage.
Before sterile draping, confirm the vacuum mattress is leak-free. The assistant may sit or stand on the patient’s left side. Position the scrub nurse next to the assistant. Anesthesia operates from the patient’s left cranial end. Position the robot from the right or right cranial side and dock it. The surgeon operates from the console with direct patient visibility.
